Pocklington
Pocklington sits amid fertile farmland at the foot of the Yorkshire Wolds, five minutes off the main A1079 York to Hull road. A traditional, bustling market town tipped with the tower of its 13th century church, good transport links mean a twentyminute journey to historic York, the East coast or the picturesque Dales region and North York Moors.
This up and coming town offers the full compliment of amenities, all conveniently within walking distance of its centre, which also includes a popular 200-seat cinema and arts venue. Allotments skirt the town along with a large leisure centre, two golf clubs and a gliding club for the more adventurous! Race goers are spoilt for choice with York, Beverley, Wetherby and Ripon courses all within easy reach. Bowls, tennis and cricket also boast thriving clubs within this active community.
Close to the centre of Pocklington you’ll find Burnby Hall Gardens. Set in eight acres of delightful landscaped gardens, Burnby Hall is home to the National Collection of Hardy Water Lilies - the largest in Europe to be found in a natural setting.
